Forever Missing You

| Eric Lee's 24th birthday. You, Katie, Ashley & Dave pre-gamed on the T with a handle of pink lemonade Burnett's and Dave peed in our bed that night. |
Dear Tiffany,
How are you doing? I am writing this to you because I miss you deeply and I want to thank you for all that you've given me and helped me with. Things are not and have not been the same since you left us.
You've taught me the true meaning from friendship and what it means to be fiercely loyal to someone. I have actually been incredibly spoiled by you because not everyone was as loyal as you were and I expect entirely too much from people. But it's better this way. You've also taught me to love myself unconditionally. When I first met you in Kindergarten, you were so silly. Silly enough that you came to school dressed up as a Hershey's Kiss once for Halloween. Though if we asked you now, you'd deny it up and down. You were always so down to go and do whatever stupid, silly thing we could think of and think about the consequences later. I'm forever thankful for that.
You always supported my goofy hobbies in a way most of my friends wouldn't. You always let me go on and on about such nerdy things and you didn't care. You even loved telling people about me. I still don't have a filter, and I know you loved that most about me.
At your funeral, your dad told me I have to live the dream for you, now. I keep trying. I hope you it's good enough. I know you'd be so proud of me going to school. When you were alive, you always tried to push me into school saying, "if I can do it, you can. It's so easy." and now that you're gone I'm kicking myself that I didn't go sooner, and could have had a little more time with you.
Friends 'til the end,
Jess

| Rest in peace, you beautiful crazy bitch. I love you always. |

Jess,
ReplyDeleteGreat post. This is a very sincere and powerful letter. I am sorry to hear about the passing of a dear friend.
I like that you included captions with your images/photos. They help to tell the story. Try to include more detail about this relationship. What else did you guys do? Tell more stories, even if they are short, to help color in the relationship - that way, your readers will attach to the details and can better relate to this experience with you. You have an audience to address. Assume they know nothing of your life and that you need to key them in with as many details as possible (in three paragraphs).
If you don't, the post will come off as too general to grasp on to.
Here, you clearly express your gratitude with passion and confidence. It's a beautifully written letter. Y0ur friend clearly had a positive impact on your upbringing. I like how you allude to her death, but then include the part about her dad at the funeral. This the fine detail I'm talking about. That's real life. It's powerful moments like these...
Nice design. I like the fun images that you chose to go along with this seemingly sad story. It creates balance and shows the joy you had together. Try to write a little more each week. This post is good, but it could be longer/stronger in its length and depth.
