My presence is a present
Presently, I'm exhausted.
I've had such a busy February and it's finally starting to wind down thank god. Started off the month with two different concerts, which actually weren't that good. Then we moved into Valentine's day which was a really nice time because my boyfriend Hassan and I decided to just stay in and eat fried chicken because we were saving our money for Katsucon at the end of the week.

| Hassan and I on the Saturday afternoon of Katsucon in our hotel room
Katsucon is an annual anime convention in National Harbor, Maryland. It's basically an artificial city constructed just for the gorgeous convention center. The week after we were there, they had CPAC. So it was fancy, and expensive. I go when I can because it's the only time I can see specific friend groups and there's restaurants down there that aren't up here. Hassan had never been so we drove down and had the time of our lives. We had several incredible dinners, and made so many new friends. I'm so glad my friends also seemed to really take Hassan in as one of their own and it really made my heart soar.
Hassan's birthday happened to fall on the Sunday we were there so I bought him a cake and put 27 candles on it and presented it to him Saturday night as we all sang happy birthday. We used a few of the candles that came with the cake and well..... we almost started a fire. The candles were so cheap they melted over and caught on fire and the cake was almost a huge fireball. It was almost made worse because we were all laughing to hard to stop and give it to him to blow out.
The silver ones in the back were the culprit
On our drive back from Maryland, I got a call that I won 4 free round trip airline tickets to 50 different places because I visited the Boston Globe Travel Show for a class. The catch was we had to wake up early on a Saturday to go get them on the cape. Whatever. Hassan and I are the most lazy on weekends but we also love travel way more. So that's what we did this weekend. It ended up being a timeshare scam basically but the guys presenting the presentation were actually super nice and not at all pressure-y and we got a gift card to the British Beer Company in addition to the tickets so it was a win all around.
Now we come to the end of February and I'm excited to finally sleep! I think mid terms and break are in March so maybe I shouldn't be so excited... but I am!

ReplyDeleteNice free write. It sounds like you've been having a lot of fun so far this year. It was refreshing to hear after the last few posts. It's great to stop and reflect on the good times.
It sounds like you have many interests and lots of close friends.
I'm glad that things are going well. You seem to be keeping a good balance between school and social life. Travel. And now some free airfare. How great is that?
Great free write. Your posts are fun to read, easy to read, full of real-life, and always interesting.
